Midwest Ag Electric is seeking an experienced General Electrician to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled and dependable tradesperson who is comfortable working in commercial and agricultural environments. You will work independently and with a team to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems while following all safety and code requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Install electrical wiring, conduit, panels, devices, and related equipment
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on electrical systems
- Troubleshoot issues such as faulty circuits, malfunctioning equipment, and system failures
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and project plans
- Conduct electrical testing using multimeters, clamp meters, and other tools
- Ensure all work meets NEC and local electrical code
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Coordinate with other trades and communicate clearly with supervisors and customers
- Document work performed, materials used, and project progress
What We’re Looking For
- Several years of electrical experience (journeyman level preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and tools
- Ability to diagnose and solve electrical problems efficiently
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to travel as needed for job sites
Pay & Benefits
- $30–$45/hour (based on experience)
- Time-and-a-half for hours over 40 per week
- $175/day per diem
- PTO accrual starting after 90 days
- 6 paid holidays
- Full MAE benefits package after 90 days
- 401(k) – vested after 5 years
- Required electrical license paid for by MAE
- Continuing education for electrical licenses provided
