Midwest Ag Electric is looking for motivated Electrical Apprentices who are ready to start or grow their career in the electrical trade. This is an entry-level position where you’ll work under experienced electricians, gain hands-on experience, and receive support to becoming a licensed Journeyman.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with electrical installations, including:
- Pulling wire and installing conduit
- Installing light fixtures, outlets, switches, and panels
- Learn and follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes
- Practice and follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout
- Help troubleshoot basic electrical issues under supervision
- Use hand and power tools to assist with repairs, installations, and adjustments
- Prepare and organize tools, materials, and equipment on the job site
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area
- Gain exposure to commercial and agricultural electrical systems
- Participating in ongoing training and continuing education
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in the electrical trade and willingness to learn
- Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work safely, follow directions, and ask questions when needed
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly
- Willingness to travel for work as needed
Pay & Benefits
- $20–$30/hour (depending on experience)
- Time-and-a-half for hours worked over 40 per week
- $175/day per diem when traveling
- 6 paid holidays
- PTO accrual starting after 90 days
- Full MAE benefits package after 90 days
- 401(k) – vested after 5 years
- Required electrical license paid for by MAE
- Continuing education for electrical licenses provided by MAE
